The Frafra people of Ghana originally hand wove these round bolga baskets as sieves for the brewing of pito – a traditional and popular fermented drink found across the Sahel. But the strength, utility, and patterns of these beautiful baskets have made them popular around the world and people quickly found other uses for them.
A trip to the grocery store, an accent piece in the living room, or to just store things in by the chair, our traditional hand-made bolga baskets from Ghana, Africa with their leather handle straps are made for everyday use, but are brightly dyed and artistically woven for home display.
These Bowls come in Small (8"-10" dia), Medium (10"-12" dia), and Large(12"-13" dia. These Bowls do not have a handle.
